Southern Care Assisted Living Recognized as State-Certified Assisted Living Community
Only Assisted Living Facility within 50-Mile Radius
TIFTON, Ga. (April 22, 2014) – Southern Care Assisted Living of Tifton is thrilled to announce its state certification as a licensed Assisted Living Facility, which permits an expanded offering of medical assistance at the 56-bed facility.
This designation was issued by the Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility Regulation Division, on March 17. Previously, Southern Care was designated a Licensed Personal Care Home.
“As a licensed Assisted Living Facility, Southern Care can offer a more affordable alternative to skilled nursing, but with a much broader range of medical assistance than is available at a typical Personal Care Home,” said Frank Sayles, Southern Care’s facility administrator.
“By addressing this need in senior services, Southern Care aims to provide a better balance between freedom of living and attentive care. Our licensed nursing staff can provide 24-hour medication assistance, check insulin levels for diabetics, assist residents who have lost mobility, and perform a number of other medical services. This translates to greater peace of mind to seniors who suffer from chronic or serious illnesses,” Sayles said.
“We’re proud to be the only assisted living care facility within a 50-mile radius of Tifton that offers this specialized level of care to seniors of ‘America’s Greatest Generation’,” said Mike Pigg, Regional Vice President of Operations of Legacy Senior Services, Southern Care’s parent company.
“Our new state certification opens the door for more Tift County seniors to gracefully ‘age in place,’ that is, remain longer in a home-like setting within the community they have come to love, even as their medical needs may increase over time,” said Bryan Cook, senior vice president of Legacy Senior Services.
